Washington D.C. is getting it's own quarter soon. It will be the first U.S. coin featuring an African American, Duke Ellington. The Jazz legend was a native of D.C. In the CNN article, buried fairly deeply, was this: "Also on the coin is the phrase 'justice for all.' The mint rejected the first inscription choice of D.C. voters, which was 'taxation without representation,' in protest of the District's lack of voting representation in Congress." I think it's funny that one of the foundations of the American Revolution is taken so lightly today. Beyond the District of Columbia there are several other United States territories which are subject to income tax but don't have representation in Congress.
