Groundhog Day Is the Best Holiday, Top 10 Reasons Why

Top 10 Reasons Why Groundhog Day Is the Best Holiday

Groundhog Day is underrated!

Earlier this morning Punxsutawney Phil predicted in early spring. Way to go, Phil!

"And so ye faithful,
there is no shadow to see
An early Spring for you and me."

Lots of people could care less, however, I think Groundhog Day is one of the best holidays all year, here's why.

  1. I don't have to buy anything for my kids.
  2. We don't spend all day cooking then all evening digesting.
  3. I don't have to buy a card, although, I probably could find a few if I know Hallmark.
  4. Groundhogs are cute in pictures, but not cute enough that my kids want to have one as a pet.
  5. My in-laws are not expecting me for dinner, although, I might call to see what they're having.
  6. Very few additional turkeys will be put to death.
  7. Heavy alcohol consumption is not required, but is optional.
  8. Very little drama on Facebook comparatively.
  9. The only holiday movie ever made about Groundhog Day was actually pretty damn funny.
  10. Punxsutawney Phil's reality show is better than anything produced by Kardashians.
Happy Groundhog Day!

I try not to play the "help the disabled guy" card.  It goes against my nature. But in this case, I figured I'd make an exception (at least this is how I'm rationalizing it in my own head).

Google Glass has amazing potential for people like me. I can't use my arms or legs any longer. I use my voice recognition software to type, design websites, write articles and marketing plans for clients.

In the era of smart phones, they aren't very friendly to people like me. Most of them can't be navigated with a mouse, and even Apple's Siri doesn't do a great job with voice activation. First, you have to press a button just to get her attention.

but with this device, which connects through my android phone, I'd be able to read email and navigate my basic telephone functions with wearable g…
